About Me

🏃☕ Hey, I’m Arnold.

Dad 24/7, software engineer 9-to-5, and runner whenever I can sneak out the door.

I built this little corner of the internet — Running on Java — to share bits of my life as a dad, coder, and runner… along with the occasional crazy ideas with my buddy GPT when I can’t turn off my brain at night.

🏅 Running on caffeine and consistency

So far, I’ve run 3 half marathons and 2 full marathons, with a goal to earn a Boston Qualifier and one day run the Boston Marathon itself. My wife’s right there with me — she’s run 3 halves too — and with 3 kids in the mix, we’ve learned that the only way to keep it all together is consistency (and coffee… lots of coffee).

💻 Coding and chaos

I’ve been a software engineer for over 10 years, balancing family life, side projects, and new tech like it’s a triathlon. Some days it all flows; other days it’s just debugging life itself.

💰 Frugal living & small wins

We try to live frugally — paying attention to where our money goes and finding small ways to save, from groceries to private school hacks. I like figuring things out, whether it’s optimizing code, running form, or the family budget.

🤖 Conversations & crazy ideas

Sometimes I post deep-dive chats I’ve had with GPT — like “The Prophecy Pact,” a spontaneous conversation that turned into a mix of humor, economics, and late-night philosophy. (You can read it here — coming soon.)

Thanks for stopping by — hope something here makes you laugh, think, or feel like you’re not the only one trying to run on caffeine and chaos.
